Backpacks for back-to-school in the new year, delivered to the children at Silethukukhanya creche, one of two schools we support in the Mduku community

Santa arrived early this year, on the last day of school this December, for the preschool children of the Mduku community, which lies next door to our Mfuleni and Ukuwela wildlife reserves in South Africa. Wild Tomorrow Fund was able to supply 71 children with backpacks filled with school supplies, making sure their new school year in January can begin with a strong, colorful and healthy first day back to school.

Sizwe and Axel visited the two creches, with Sizwe explaining the contents of each backpack to the delight of the kids. Each bag included a lunchbox and juice box, coloring book and pencils, a bar of soap and face cloth, toothpaste and toothbrush, plus a toy!

Thank you to all the wonderful donors who contributed to our #GivingTuesday Santa Backpack campaign! We look forward to continuing the program for years to come, providing a brighter future and first day back at school, for the kids.
